Album Review: Full Service – Roaming Dragons

Album Review: Full Service – Roaming Dragons

The first time I experienced Full Service was when they joined Badfish on stage for an over the top “Pawn Shop” jam. The song transformed into organized chaos as people beat drums, shredded guitars, and flailed wildly on stage. I was impressed but I thought I had simply discovered another band who had grasped the reggae-rock sound. Little did I know, I couldn’t have been more wrong.

Months later, as I began to listen to their acoustic album Roaming Dragons, it became apparent just how much raw talent Full Service possessed. If I hadn’t known what I was listening to I would have never guess it was the same band I saw live just a few months ago. The perfect mixture of acoustics, percussion, harmonies, and folk influences was nothing like their equally awesome electrified live show; however, it manages to capture the same chemistry and energy they possess on stage.

The album has a number of standout tracks including “Lately,” “Temporarily,” “Minnows,” “Hallways,” a personal favorite “Greetings,” and the title track “Roaming Dragons.” Overall the album is a perfect blend of acoustic guitars, harmonized vocals, and just enough percussion. Other instruments, especially a melodica, are seamlessly strewn throughout the album giving each track its own unique sound.

Listen to the first track, “Lately,” below and grab your copy of Roaming Dragons from iTunes or Full Service’s website store today.
