The bi-annual celebration of all things 311 will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada, March 11th, 2010. While the majority of past 311 Day festivities have taken place in New Orleans, where March 11th is officially 311 Day, a medical conference over the same weekend has created a shortage of hotel rooms. In order to accommodate the thousands of fans who flock to extravaganza, the band has relocated the event to Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.
Typical 311 Day festivities include fan appreciation parties, pre- and post show parties, and “the ultimate 311 concert experience.” Since it’s inception in 2000, the band has played anywhere from 47 to 68 songs, with the concerts lasting between 3 and 5 hours, consisting of hits, rarities, and covers.

The fun begins Wednesday, March 10th, with the Fan Party at the Mirage. Followed the next day by the 3-11 Day concert extravaganza, with pre- and post show party details to be announced. The band will then wrap up the festivities on March 12th at the Mandalay Bay Beach & Wave Pool with a performance by The Wailers.
Ticket pre-sale for 311.com members began October 29th; the remainder of the 11,400 tickets were sold almost instantly as they went on sale to the public October 31st. Tickets can still be found on Ebay and Craigslist if you are willing to pay slightly over face value.
